In my head I hear The Beatles singing, "Oh yesterday came suddenly..." Those famous words ring so true to me now. We are already on the brink of August. Only a little more than a month until we start all over again.
I suppose every parent feels this way when they see their children growing so quickly, but I'll still say it, it is almost impossible to believe that my daughter is going into first grade. (Wow, I'm gonna be a mess when graduation time comes.) But before she actually starts first grade I wanted to share some photos* from the last days of Kindergarten:

Miss Doodle proudly accepting her Kindergarten diploma.
We are very proud of you, Miss Doodle, and we hope that first grade goes just as well as Kindergarten did!
Truth be told, I'm nervous that it won't be as easy to adjust to. She's not a morning person, and we had afternoon Kindergarten, so we'll have to see how waking up early goes. And I get to adjust to packing two lunches** everyday. Yay.
*I tried to post a video from her year end celebration, where she was singing in Chinese. Alas, the file was too large. (That was at the beginning of July. Ugh. Can you tell that that frustration really zapped my motivation to blog?)
**I've faithfully packed my husband a lunch for every work day, with very few exceptions, for more than 12 years. Of course he's not as picky as Miss Doodle. He's happy to eat the same thing every single day. I'm hoping there will be a few vegetarian school lunches.
