Our Bags are Packed

We are all set to go to Virginia. We leave early tomorrow morning and won't be back until September 2nd. I won't have my computer with me. So I'll fill you in on our trip when we return.

Tomato Soup

Bug had her first experience with tomato soup. Do you think she likes it?

That's a resounding yes. She ate it all up.

Little Swimmer Girl

Miss Doodle's final swimming lesson was earlier this month. At the last class they talk about safety and get to wear life vests.

Here she is being caught by the teacher after jumping in:

In the beginning of the class she would not jump into the water. More like hold the teacher's hand while being pulled in. I'm so proud of her because she made great progress. She overcame her anxieties, and by the end of her lessons she was jumping in with enthusiasm!

She passed the class with flying colors and gets to move up to the next level. The next classes don't start until fall. And I signed her up for soccer lessons in between. Hopefully she likes that as much as swimming, cause I'm getting tired of hearing, "When do I get to go to swimming lessons again?"

Starry Night

We watched shooting stars last week. The Regime got a new pair of binoculars that are good for viewing the night sky. So he was eager to drive out to the country last Wednesday night for the Perseid Meteor Shower.

The Bug was totally asleep in her car seat. Meanwhile, Miss Doodle was so excited that she could hardly contain herself. Not only did she get to stay up way past her bedtime, but she also got to see her very first shooting star and many more. Lots of wishes were made.

We Went to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Grandma and Grandpa came too, too, too.
We went to the zoo, zoo, zoo.

My in-laws were generous enough to buy us a new membership to the Minnesota Zoo. An excellent gift for our family because it's one of our favorite places to visit!

Due to my mother-in-law's health, she isn't able to get out much. So it was such a treat to have her with us. We hope that we'll be able to do it again when she's feeling up for it.

Here are some highlights from our adventure:
